Who is Usagi Tsukino?

​

Usagi (aka Serena/Bunny) is a selfish, crybaby, not to mention a bit of a ditz. Well... at least that's how she came into the story as. As the series progressed she matured greatly and showed utter love and devotion to her loved ones, as well as some of her enemies. She learns about her true identity by a talking cat named Luna, who has a crescent moon on her forehead.

As Usagi meets her new friends, you see that even though she loves each of them, she still has everyday moments with her friends. Rei and Usagi usually are always fighting, in Sailor Moon Super, she forms a crush (as well as the other girls) on Haruka before Haruka's gender is revealed. Then of course there's the bond Usagi and Seiya share in Sailor Moon Stars. It's a bond that no other scout has with the mysterious Starlights.

Usagi as Sailor Moon:

​

The Champion of Love and Justice, as she calls herself, Sailor Moon was reborn and destined to save Earth. She wields the Silver Imperium Crystal which is a heirloom from the Moon Kingdom. She fights many foes with the help of her fellow scouts and learns that "Sailor Moon" is not the only identity she has.

 

As she grows within the story, she becomes more powerful with new attacks and transformations. She goes from Sailor Moon, to Super Sailor Moon, then eventually Eternal Sailor Moon where she has wings.

'My Only Love':

​

"Meatball-Head" was the english nickname that Mamoru would call Usagi (Usa-ko in the anime and Buns in the English manga). Mamoru was much older than she was but Usagi's love for him was a very strong and was returned in the same manner from this college student. Their bond goes beyond their present life. They were lovers in their past lives and are future spouses.

At first not knowing who Mamoru is, she bickered everytime with him when they would bump into each other. It was Tuxedo Kamen/Tuxedo Mask who had her taken away during the first few acts/episodes of the series. It was sooner revealed to Usagi that Tuxedo Mask was indeed Mamoru.

Usagi's Past Life:

​

Usagi comes to find out that in her past life she was known as Princess Serenity, who was foolishly in love with the Prince of the Earth Kingdom - Endymion (aka Mamoru). She would often leave the Moon Kingdom to visit this prince even though it was forbidden for the two kingdoms to have contact.

​

When Queen Beryl kills Endymion before Serenity during the invasion of the Moon Kingdom, Serenity takes her own life with Endymion's sword. After the story's characters were reborn, Usagi is revealed to be Serenity after watching Mamoru, in Endymion's form, sacrifice himself to save her.

Usagi's Future Life:

​

Usagi's future form was given the name Neo-Queen Serenity, and is the future queen of Crystal Tokyo of the Silver Millennium. She is also married to King Endymion and has a daughter named ChibiUsa, who she nicknames Small Lady.

​

After a series of events, Neo-Queen Serenity sends Chibiusa into the past to train with the Sailor Moon and her scouts. Chibiusa and Usagi never really got a long during the 21st Century and fought more like sisters than mother and daughter. But in the 30th Century, ChibiUsa loves and respects her mother, Serenity.
