Who is Rei Hino?

​

Rei (aka Raye) is the hot tempered Shinto priestess, who works in her grandfather's shrine. She doesn't always get along with Usagi, which is shown more in the anime, but protects Usagi the way a friend would. Before learning her true identity, Rei was able to do fire readings and had psychic abilities that played a big part in becoming Sailor Mars. Rei doesn't go to the same school as the other girls, but instead attends a private school.

Rei has two different dreams that are portrayed in the anime and manga. One is that she longs to become the head priestess of the Hikawa Shrine and the other dream is to become a singer or model. But like all the other girls- her biggest dream is to be married.

Rei as Sailor Mars:

Soldier of Flame and Passion, Sailor Mars joins Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury to defend Earth. She uses her planet's power Fire as well as her psychic ability to fight. She also uses a Shinto scroll that she throws at the foe, removing all evil.
